Kazakhstan to build 19 mln sq m of housing in 2025

The amount of construction works in Kazakhstan in January grew by 12.7% to make 140.5 billion tenge, Kazinform News Agency cites the Kazakh national statistics bureau.

Of which 81.6% were built by private construction companies, 17.8% by foreign and 0.6% by state ones.

The total area of commissioned housing in January decreased compared to last January by 26.9% to make 777,100 square meters. Of which 432,000 square meters are apartment blocks and 329,700 square meters are single-family houses. Most of the housing up to 736,300 square meters or 96.1% was put into services by private companies.

The cities of Almaty, Astana and Shymkent rank among the top three with the most new housing construction.

Kyzylorda, Almaty, Zhambyl and Turkistan regions recorded the highest housing construction rates.

Three new schools for 3,090 seats and two kindergartens for 600 beds were commissioned countrywide in January.

According to the Industry and Construction Ministry, 19 million square meters of housing or 175,000 houses will be built his year in Kazakhstan, and 111 million square meters by 2029.
