Kazakhstan to block 244 religious websites

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - 224 religious websites are likely to be banned in Kazakhstan, chairman of the Committee for religious affairs under the Ministry of Culture and Sports Galym Shoikin announced at a Wednesday press conference at KazMedia Center in Astana.
"Recently we've been monitoring web space to expose websites containing destructive information of religious character. The committee has analyzed over 8 000 religious websites and deemed 244 of them as dangerous. They are to be blocked in Kazakhstan," Mr. Shoikin said. According to him, the committee also banned 100 religious video materials that will not be distributed on the territory of Kazakhstan.
