Kazakhstan to attend EAPC conference on problem of weapons of mass destruction non-proliferation
ASTANA. April 19. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ Kazakh Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs-Special Envoy of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Konstantin Zhigalov will take part in the conference of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) dedicated to the problem of non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
Official Representative of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry Askar Abdrakhmanov has said it at a weekly briefing today.
"Within the conference K.Zhigalov will lay out a vision of the Republic of Kazakh on further measures aimed at nuclear threat reduction in the light of statement of President Nursultan Nazarbayev at the Nuclear Security Summit in the United States", he emphasized.
The Kazakh MFA's Representative noted that on behalf of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office the Kazakh diplomat will deliver a speech at the conference among major contributors at the invitation of the NATO heads.
"The Kazakh chairmanship pays great attention to dialog development between the OSCE and NATO on topical issues of the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian security. Both organizations play key role in countering challenges and threats to stability and security. Kazakhstan stands for strengthening cooperation between regional organizations working in this sphere", A.Abdrakhmanov said.
It is planned that within the framework of the visit the Special Envoy will hold bilateral consultations with the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan.
The conference will be carried out on April 20-21.
