Kazakhstan to add over 243MW of renewable electricity-generating capacity this year

Kazakhstan plans to commission around 943MW of new electric generating capacity this year, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

According to Kazakh energy minister Almassadam Satkaliyev, the country is to add around 943 MW of new electric generating capacity, with 500MW being powered by new thermal energy and over 243MW by renewable energy.

Earlier it was reported that the country generates almost 12% of electricity from RES sources.
