Kazakhstan, Tajikistan to sign agreement in electric power sector
Kazakhstan and Tajikistan seek to sign an agreement between their governments to decide on the amount of electricity supply to Kazakhstan from Tajikistan’s Rogun hydroelectric plant, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
This was announced following the talks between Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu and Tajikistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin in Astana.
It’s expected that electricity supplies to Kazakhstan will offer new opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the sector.
We’re convinced that Tajik-Kazakh energy cooperation has broad prospects and agreed that an intergovernmental agreement in the electric power sector will be signed in the nearest future, said the Tajik Foreign Minister.
The sides also discussed cooperation in the field of digitalization, including implementation of Kazakhstani IT solutions when developing websites of state agencies of Tajikistan.
As earlier reported, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan strengthen economic cooperation expanding investment projects and creating joint enterprises.
