Kazakhstan supports Finland's proposal to open direct flight from Helsinki to Almaty
TANA. September 30. KAZINFORM Kazakh Minister of Transport and Communications Berik Kamaliyev held a meeting with Ambassador of Finland to Kazakhstan Mikko Kinnunen on Friday; the Ministry's press service told Kazinform.
Kamaliyev briefed the diplomat on the status of cooperation in transport sphere, and the ministry's activities on infrastructure development with the purpose of boosting the country's transit potential.
Tow big projects are implemented in railway sector. They are the railroads "Korgas-Zhetygen" and "Uzen-state border with Turkmenistan". Another big project is "Western Europe - Western China" highway, which will cut the distance for transportations from China to Europe 3.5 times.
Ambassador Mikko Kinnunen said that Finland was interested in developing cooperation in the field of energy saving technologies, construction, mining sector. In addition, Finland intends to open direct flight to Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan is ready to support the proposal on opening direct flight from Helsinki to Almaty, the Kazakh Minister noted.
