On June 15 the Nuclear Physics Institute started deliveries of molybdenum 99/ technetium 99m generator used for diagnosing cancer and heart diseases to Kyrgyzstan as part of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Kazinform News Agency cites the Kazakh Energy Ministry.
Last year Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev and IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi signed in Astana the 2023-2028 Country Programme Framework which determines four priority areas: nuclear power infrastructure, nuclear and radiation security, food security and nuclear medicine.
The Nuclear Physics Institute is the only organization in Kazakhstan to hold the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification to confirm the manufacturer's compliance with GMP.
