Kazakhstan slumps to 17th spot in Kazan Universiade medal standings

ASTANA. July 14. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan's national team has suffered a slump and fallen to the 17th spot of the medal table at the 2013 World University Games in Kazan, Russia, says web portal Sports.kz
Kazakhstan finished the eighth day of the Universiade empty-handed and plunged to the 17th place in the medal standings. Kazakhstani wrestler Ekaterina Larionova stood a good chance to win bronze in Women's 63 kg category on Saturday, but, unfortunately, lost to Maria Mamashuk of Belarus.
At the Summer Universiade in Kazan, Kazakhstani athletes hauled 2 gold, 7 silver and 9 bronze medals.
Russia, Japan and China remain the leaders taking the first three spots of the medal table.
