Kazakhstan signed 67 investment agreements worth USD 696 bln in 2023

Following the visit of the Kazakh President to China the two nations signed 30 documents worth 16.54 billion US dollars. 52 joint projects up to 21 billion US dollars are being developed, Kazinform News Agency reports.

As part of the President’s visit to the UAE, there were signed 10 investment agreements worth 4.7 billion US dollars. The Foreign Ministry arranged the talks with the Head of State with the heads of leading transnational companies from the U.S., Germany, France, Qatar, and others, communications department head Aibek Smadiyarov told a briefing.

As of December 14, 2023, Kazakhstan concluded 67 investment agreements worth 696 billion US dollars.

He noted further development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route or the Middle Corridor is of great significance for Kazakhstan. The diplomats worked at further promotion of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route and the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway. Transit of goods is expected soon to increase fivefold.

In the first six months the gross inflow of direct foreign investments in Kazakhstan made 13.3 billion US dollars that is 3.9% less as compared to the same period of 2022.

As earlier reported, Astana held Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable 2023 bringing together more than 1,000 delegates, representatives of leading international companies, investors and experts. Over 60 meetings were held on the sidelines of the forum, 28 documents worth 1.8 billion US dollars were signed.
