"Right now we are cooperating with several companies that are to estimate in two months to what extent Kazakhstan can benefit economically from the event. One thing for sure: it will cover the operating expenses of Euro 283 million that has already been spent by Kazakhstan on the exhibition. The holding of the EXPO event in the Kazakh capital will be beneficial for the country," Mr. Yermegiyayev told the Thursday press conference in Astana.

As reported earlier, "Green Block EXPO Village" initially estimated at $370 million will be built in Astana prior to the EXPO-2017 event. According to Mr. Yermegiyayev, Kazakhstan's spherical pavilion with total area of 24 thousand square meters in the center of the exhibition town will be the symbol of the International specialized exhibition "EXPO-2017" in the capital of Kazakhstan. It will be surrounded by the international, theme-based as well as corporate pavilions from every side.

Construction works of the EXPO-town in the Yessil district of the Kazakh capital are set to begin in spring 2014.

"I assume that 30-40% of construction works on the spherical and international pavilions will be mainly performed by an international company with the use of sophisticated technologies," Yermegiyayev explained.
