Kazakhstan's Sanzhar Madiyev appears in the US Marco Polo TV series

ASTANA. KAZINFORM Well-known Kazakhstani artist Sanzhar Madiyev played a role of a guard in the Marco Polo TV series, a world replete with greed, betrayal, sexual intrigue and rivalry, based on the famed explorer's adventures in Kublai Khan's court in 13th century China.
The series was picked up for a 10-episode season by Netflix, with a cost of about $90 million. It stars Lorenzo Richelmy in the title role. The series was filmed in Italy, Kazakhstan, and at Pinewood Studios in Malaysia. It was debuted on Netflix on this December 12.
