Kazakhstan's population to reach 17 mln, Statistics Agency

ASTANA. October 15. KAZINFORM "As of September 1, 2012 the population of Kazakhstan exceeded 16.8 mln people," chairman of the Kazakh Statistics Agency Alikhan Smailov told.
"The country's population made 16 836 700 thousand people, including 9 215 600 ( 54,7%), of urban and 7 621 100 ( 45,3%) of rural population. Since the beginning of the year, the population has increased by 161 300 people or 1%."
