Kazakhstan's population increased by 166 000 people for 8 months of 2013
ASTANA. october 12. KAZINFORM As of September 1 of this year, the country's population increased by 166,000 people and counts 17 million 750 thousand people, Chairman of the Statistics Agency Alikhan Smailov told a briefing.
"As of September 1, 2013, the population of the country was 17,075,700 people, including 9,384,600 of urban population and 7,691,100 of rural population. For 8 months of this year, the population increased by 166,000 people," Smailov said.
In comparison with September 1, 2012 the population increased by 239,000 persons or 1.4 %.
"261,000 births were registered this year, which is 1.2% more than last year," the head of the statistics agency noted.
In general, the natural increase of the population in January-August was 167,800 people.
