Kazakhstan's population amounted to 16.6 million people - Statistics Agency

TANA. November 14. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ The population of Kazakhstan has amounted to more than 16.6 million people as of December 1, 2011 and in comparison with January 1, 2011, increased by 1.1 percent.
Chairman of the Kazakh Agency of Statistics Alikhan Smailov has announced at a briefing.
According to him, the number of births for nine months made 280,460 people, and the number of deaths - 109,785 people.
"There is positive dynamics of natural population increase," A.Smailov noted.
