Kazakhstan's policy in sphere of foreign direct investments attraction moves to non-oil & gas sector - Kelimbetov

ALMATY. May 26. KAZINFORM /Aigul Turysbekova/ Within the years of independence Kazakhstan has attracted more than USD 100 bln of investments. The most part was directed to the oil and gas sector, mining industry. Investors are interested in these areas.

Minister of Economic Development and Trade Kairat Kelimbetov has said in his report on "Investment policy of Kazakhstan" during a roundtable titled "Foreign investments in Kazakhstan: experience, tasks and prospects."

"The country's economic policy is successful. For its economic reforms Kazakhstan has choosen a right political platform, which is based on stability," K.Kelimbetov outlined.

According to him, today the country's policy in the sphere of attraction of foreign direct investments moves to the non-oil and gas sector. "The government was set a specific task on reorientation of foreign direct investments in the processing sector. It is necessary to diversify the country' economy for its further growth," he stressed.
