Kazakhstan's national team won 5 bronze medals in short track in Beijing
BEIJING. April 5. KAZINFORM /Ruslan Suleimenov/ The national team of Kazakhstan won 5 bronze medals at the Asian Cup in short track speed skating which was held in Beijing, April 1-3.
7 teams from Kazakhstan, China, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, India and Mongolia took part in the tournament. The competition was held in three age groups. 4 athletes in every age group could represent their country.
Kazakhstan's sportswomen: Maria Zinchenko, Darya Goncharova and Olga Tikhonova won the first 'bronze' on April 1 in 2 000 meters relay.
The next day was more productive and four bronze medals were grabbed by Kazakhstan's juniors - Fedor Andreyev, Rinat Mazhenov, Danabek Khairov, Darya Volokitina, Anastasiya Kuznetsova and Ksenya Motova, in the relay as well.
Darya Volokitina and Artur Sultangaliyev were third in individual 500 meters races.
