Kazakhstan's nat'l debt makes 26.5 bln U.S. dollars - Vice-Minister of Finance
ASTANA. December 26. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan Government's debt as of October 1 amounted to more than KZT 4 trillion, Vice Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan Ruslan Dalenov informs.
"Public debt as of October 1 makes 4 trillion 74 billion tenge, or in dollar terms - 26.5 billion dollars. This figure is 1.9 % of GDP, that is low enough ", said R. Dalenov at a briefing at the central communications service in Astana.
Thus, according to him, the level of government debt is permissible and under safe limits.
"Debt on government guarantees and warranties totaled KZT 121 billion. In the first 9 months the level of government debt and its servicing flows are within acceptable and safe limits", said Deputy Minister of Finance .
Also at an acceptable level is the debt burden on the budget.
"That means all the costs of debt service, if we refer to the budget revenues, are at an acceptable level, which for 9 months has been formed at 9.7 %. Let me remind you that the limit is 15%", summed Mr. Dalenov.
