Kazakhstan's gold and currency reserves hit USD 70 bln - Marchenko

ALMATY. April 19. KAZINFORM /Yerlik Kebekbay/ Gold and currency reserves of Kazakhstan including the reserves of the National Bank and the assets of the National Fund have exceeded USD 70 bln to date, Chief banker of the country Grigory Marchenko has informed of it at a press conference in Almaty today.
Net gold-currency reserves of the Bank in January-March 2011 rose by 25% - up to USD 34.6 bln. Last month net growth of gold-currency reserves made 5.3%. Net currency reserves rose by 5.9% in March.
The assets of the National Fund of Kazakhstan, according to preliminary data, made USD 33.8 bln late March while at the beginning of 2011 this figure made USD 30.6 bln.
