Kazakhstan's foreign trade dropped twofold compared to 2008

ASTANA. October 30. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ "The volume of foreign trade of Kazakhstan has decreased twofold compared to the last year", Chairman of the Trade Committee of the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Trade Aidar Kazybayev said it Friday at the press conference.
"Within nine months the volume of foreign trade has amounted to USD 50 bln and decreased twofold compared to the corresponding period of the last year. The export amounted to USD 30 bln, import - USD 20 bln", he noted.
According to him, the situation is due to external reasons. "About 80% of export is primary products, the world prices of which have receded in 2008-2009", A.Kazybayev said.
