"This process involved a lot of work on the part of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Kazakhstan's representatives at the UN. To bid for accession to the UNHRC and fail would be quite a flop for us," K. Sultanov said.

He stressed that the success was due to President of the country Nursultan Nazarbayev. He also added that 'when considering a candidature of the promising UNHRC member, all factors of socioeconomic and political development of the country are taken into account.'
