Kazakhstan, Russia to ink new Treaty on Good Neighborliness and Alliance Cooperation in the 21st century
ASTANA. November 4. KAZINFORM A new Treaty on Good Neighborliness and Alliance Cooperation in the 21st century between Kazakhstan and Russia is to be signed during the 10th forum of interregional cooperation in Yekaterinburg, official spokesperson of the Central Communications Service under the President Altai Abibullayev told a weekly briefing on Monday.
"The landmark event of the week - the 10th forum of interregional cooperation in Yekaterinburg with the participation of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of Russia Vladimir Putin - is set to be held on November 10-11," Mr. Abibullayev said.
According to him, the sides will sign a number of bilateral documents aimed at further strengthening of mutually profitable Kazakh-Russian cooperation. The signing of the new Treaty on Good Neighborliness and Alliance Cooperation in the 21st century will be the key event within the framework of the forum.
Industrial cooperation will be in the focus of this year's forum, which is an important tool in expansion of cross-border cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia. Heads of ministries and agencies, heads of border regions, large industrial enterprises, research institutes, national holdings and companies, and experts in the sphere of innovative technologies are expected to attend as well.
An exhibition dedicated to industrial cooperation will be held in Yekaterinburg. The Kazakh-Russian Business Council and youth forum (more than 500 participants) are believed to convene on the sidelines of the forum.
