Kazakhstan, Russia should join efforts to create and unify modern farming machinery, view

ALMATY. April 27. KAZINFORM /Yekaterian Ionova/ State prize winner of Russia in science and technology Eduard Zhalnin becomes a professor emeritus of the Kazakh National Agrarian University. He is currently giving lectures at this university for the teaching staff and students, candidates for masters' and doctors' degrees.

"Taking into account that Kazakhstan is taking one of the leading places in grain production our task is to reanimate joint creation and unitizing up-to-date grain and other farming machinery," he said delivering the lecture.

"For example the world's developed states agrarian production is grant-aided. The share of the public support makes 50-70% of the product cost. We have to follow this way. Agriculture is a strategic branch and may be referred to as a defense sector. Food security today is a strategic line, foodstuff is a weapon in a struggle for markets, power and energy resources," the well-known Russian professor stated.
