Kazakhstan ready to lead the Ummah, OIC Sec-Gen

"Thanks to the policy in the international arena Kazakhstan could preserve its Islamic identity and move ahead on the way of modernization. It once again proves Kazakhstan's readiness to assume the Ummah leadership in that intricate time in our history. I believe under the wise guidance of President Nursultan Nazarbayev we will achieve results," said Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu taking the floor at the 38^th session of the OIC Foreign Ministers' Council in Astana.

The OIC Secretary General congratulated the Government and the people of Kazakhstan on the 20^th anniversary of the country's independence.
