ASTANA. May 19. KAZINFORM /Narymbek Ismagulov/ The international scientific conference on People?s Assembly of Kazakhstan as the institution of consolidation of the civil society held recently in Astana allowed again to define Kazakhstan?s positions and aspiration for strengthening inter-ethnic and inter-faith harmony in the country, to develop new approaches to estimating the tendencies of ethno-political development as well as to discuss prospects of their improvement together with the international experts.
Following the conference it was noted that Russian scientists expressed great interest in many works submitted for the discussion and asked the organizers to publish most important of them. Kazinform disseminates the view of a participant of the conference, Russian expert, Doctor of Linguistics, Professor of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia Uldanai Bakhtygereyeva on the inter-ethnic and inter-faith relations in Kazakhstan.
According to U. Bakhtygereyeva, representatives of different ethnic groups could perform their culture due to TV and radio shows launched in our country. ?To my mind, this fact forms and consolidates the society?, she said.
As the foreign expert noted, Russia faces many inter-ethnic and inter-faith problems to date requiring appropriate solutions. This regards the peoples of the North, Northern Caucasus etc. ?It should be noted that Russia is behind the level reached by Kazakhstan. I think that if Russia solved its problems on such level as Kazakhstan, this would bring more efficient changes?, she noted.
?It is evident that today Kazakhstan ranks the first on creation of the atmosphere of inter-ethnic and inter-religious harmony. And the People?s Assembly of Kazakhstan is a really functioning institution?, U. Bakhtygereyeva stressed. ?But we should not forget that keeping this level and conducting further reforms is more difficult?, she noted.
