Kazakhstan radically changes system of advanced training and proficiency testing of teachers

"This year we will focus on the tasks set by the Head of State, said B. Zhumagulov. The first one is introduction of advanced technologies to the system of learning, which bring international experience to the Nazarbayev University and intellectual schools, the flagman of our education system."

According to the Kazakh Minister of Education and Science , new programs and methods of training were developed, a National Center of advanced training with integrated centers in regions was created and the centers of pedagogical skills at Nazarbayev Intellectuall schools have been formed.

"And through this system during five years, we plan to retrain half of the teaching corps of the country," B. Zhumagulov explained.

In addition, B. Zhumagulov has promised to significantly upgrade the standards of teacher education and to increase the requirements for institutions of higher education which prepare teachers. 

In 2011 Kazakhstan initiated the development of a fundamentally new type of education "E-learning", which is thriving in the developed countries of the world.  44 educational organizations launched a pilot project, which in 2012 will be connected to another 537 institutions with access to Internet bandwidth from 4 to 10 Mbit / sec.

"Making analysis of the pilot project we will develop the concept of e-learning, relevant standards and training programs," Minister of Education said. 

According to the Kazakh President's task, several independent centers of proficiency testing will be set up in pilot mode on the basis of sectoral associations.
