ASTANA. KAZINFORM - In 2013 Kazakhstan produced 22.5 tons of uranium, this has been said by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev.
He stressed that the nuclear industry is one of the most promising sectors of the fuel and energy complex of Kazakhstan. "At the moment Kazakhstan is the world leader in the production of uranium. In 2013 we produced 22.5 thousand tons. The main goal in the uranium industry is the creation of a complete nuclear fuel cycle. However, currently we only produce uranium", said Asset Issekeshev.
