Kazakhstan President lights Main New Year tree of the country (PHOTO)
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Today Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has lighted the main New Year tree of the country placed at the square near the State Opera and Ballet Theatre "Astana Opera".
The height of the main tree of the country called "Bird of Happiness", placed in front of the State Opera and Ballet Theatre "Astana Opera", is 25 meters. Schoolchildren, guests and residents of Astana gathered to take part in a colorful, memorable and fantastic action. The event was also attended by children from orphanages of the city.
As Kazinform previously reported, in the first half of the day a cycle track "Saryarka" has held a festive concert "One Homeland! One Destiny! One leader!" devoted to the First President of Kazakhstan. Nursultan Nazarbayev attended the event and congratulated people of Kazakhstan on the holiday.
The Astana Opera House was founded in 2013 on the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The classic opera and ballet masterpieces as well as the world-class performances were already staged by contemporary masters on the scene of the opera house.
