Kazakhstan population increased by 42 thousand people
ASTANA. April 15. KAZINFORM As of March 1, 2013 the population of Kazakhstan increased by 42 thousand and made 16 953 900 people, head of the Statistics Agency Alikhan Smailov stated at a briefing on the results of socio-economic development of the country in January 2013, Kazinform refers to primeminister.kz.
"As of March 1, 2013 the population amounted to 16 953 900 people, and in comparison with the beginning of the previous year increased by 42 thousand people or 0.4%," A.Smailov said.
It was noted that the increase in population was due to natural increase, which in January-February 2013 was 41,400 people.
Also, speaking of the demographic situation in the country Alikhan Smailov reported that in January-February 2013 the number of births was 66,400 that is by 0.8% more than in 2012.
The number of deaths in January-February 2013 was 25.6 thousand people, which is 2.3% less than in January-February 2012.
