Kazakhstan plans to raise IT industry's growth dynamics up to 20% per annum
ALMATY. July 13. KAZINFORM /Yelena Ilyinskaya/ On Monday Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea have held a forum of associations of communications in Almaty. The event was organized by the Korean International Agency for Information Technologies under the Committee of Communications of the Republic of Korea with the participation of the Agency for Informatization and Communication (AIC) of Kazakhstan, Kazinform reports. The forum aims at exchange of experience, the organizers say.
According to Chairman of the AIC K. Yessekeyev, the forum will be useful both for Kazakhstan and Korean experts. "Holding such forum is necessary to understand the volume of the market and those services which Kazakhstan's information-communication sector needs. This proves that our Government gives special attention to the IT sphere's development", he said.
"IT sector makes 3.5% of the country's GDP. This is a significant figure. The major part, that is 3%, falls on telecommunications sector, the other part - on IT services. Therefore in the nearest outlook we plan to increase IT industry's growth dynamics up to 20% per annum in average. Particular attention will be given to the development of new communication services, new services in IT. I think this forum will be fruitful for both countries", K. Yessekeyev said.
