Kazakhstan partakes in 99th session of UN World Tourism Organization

SAMARKAND. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan took part in the 99th session of the UN World Tourism Organization, held in October 1-3 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

According to the acting Director of Tourism Department under the Ministry of Investment and Development Timur Duisengaliyev, the tourism department of Kazakhstan was tasked to implement all progressive developments of the World Tourism Organization. In this regard, to date Silk Road project is one of the most promising products of the global tourism industry. T.Duisengaliyev stressed that thanks to the World Tourism Organization there have been identified corridors of UNESCO cultural heritage which run through the territory of our country including the northern section of the Silk Road (ancient settlements Koilyk, Karamergen, Karavansarai, Talhiz and world-famous ancient city of Turkestan and Sauran). Cities located along the Silk Road signed a declaration on joint development of tourism. The project involves nineteen cities of different countries. The list includes the settlements located in the Chinese provinces, Inner Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Bahrain, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Nepal and others.
