Kazakhstan, Pakistan mull possible launch of direct flights

ASTANA. January 26. KAZINFORM Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Pakistan Bakytbek Shabarbayev met with Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Burhanul Islam in Islamabad this week, the Kazakh Embassy's press service reports.

The sides discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation, including some aspects of political, commercial and economic relations as well as interaction in the multilateral format.

The Kazakh envoy familiarized the Pakistani diplomat with the key points of the State-of-the-Nation Address by President Nazarbayev "Kazakhstan's way-2050: Common goal, common interests, common future".

In the context of bilateral cooperation the interlocutors also touched upon the exchange of top-level visits, development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, holding of the regular session of the Kazakhstani-Pakistani Intergovernmental Commission for Commercial-Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Cooperation and launching direct flights between the two countries.

Both Mr. Shabarbayev and Mr. Islam praised the current state of Kazakhstani-Pakistani partnership and reiterated the readiness to pursue the plans on further development of these relations.
