Kazakhstan oncology service budget amounts to 32 bln tenge
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Budget of Kazakhstan's oncology service equals to 32 billion tenge, this has been announced during a briefing at the Central Communications Service by the head of Kazakh Research Institute of Oncology and Radiology Kuanish Nurgaziyev.
"In 2010 the budget amounted to 9.5 billion tenge. Today, this budget is about 32 billion tenge. Despite the global economic crisis 86.5% of cancer patients receive specialized treatment in the country. Over 82% of patients receive pharmaceutical supplies," said K.Nurgaziyev. According to his words, on January 1, 2015 Kazakhstan registered 150,436 cancer patients. It should be noted that in 2013 the figure was 146,404. Increase in the number of cancer patients is due to the growth of malignant tumors incidence rate. This trend is common to all developed countries, experts say. According to WHO, 20.6 million new cases of cancer will be registered in the world by 2020.
