Kazakhstan officially invited to Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics
The National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan has received an official invitation to the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, set to be held in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) sent the official letter as part of the traditional procedure that confirms the country's participation in the major winter sporting event of the four-year cycle.
Kazakh athletes have been participating in the Winter Olympics since 1994, when the country first competed as an independent nation. Kazakhstan has collected eight Olympic medals, including one gold, three silver, and four bronze throughout the years.
The 2026 Winter Olympics is set to run on February 6-22.
Additionally, the official logo for the Milano Cortina 2026 Games has been presented.
As earlier reported, on February 6, the International Olympic Committee has officially started the one-year countdown to the opening of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics with the unveiling of a countdown clock and a symbolic invitation for the world's best athletes to participate.
