ASTANA. KAZINFORM "A severe shortage of donor organs is observed in Kazakhstan," Healthcare Minister Salidat Kairbekova told a briefing.
"One death, incredible as it may seem, may save the lives of five patients. Therefore, it is crucial to make people become more involved in postmortal organ donations of their diseased relatives," she added. According to the Minister, the country's medical cluster is ready to perform tissue transfers and organ transplantation. However, lack of donors remains an urgent problem. 177 organ transplants were performed in Kazakhstan in 2013.
