Kazakhstan names new general staff chief - first deputy commander-in-chief of ground forces

 By order of the defense minister, general-major Mereke Kuchekbayev has been named the chief of the general staff – first deputy commander-in-chief of the ground forces of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, Kazinform Agency cites the Defense Ministry of Kazakhstan.

General-major Mereke Kuchekbayev made his way from the military school cadet to the army commander of the regional command ‘Yug’ (South).

He was the commander of the airborne assault troops of the ground forces of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.

Mereke Kuchekbayev is a graduate of the Alma-Ata High Combined Arms Command School, National Defense University, Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia.
