Kazakhstan may revise water tariffs
ASTANA. December 24. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan may revise water tariffs to ensure it is used more effectively. These measures are stipulated by the draft state program on water resources management.
ЭGradual revision of water tariffs for all categories of consumers is necessary. This move will help stimulate effective water consumption and cover investments channeled into the renovation of water infrastructure in the country," Minister of Environment and Water Resources of Kazakhstan Nurlan Kapparov said at the Government's meeting on Tuesday.
By 2040, the water consumption in Kazakhstan is expected to increase by 56 percent and water deficit will reach 12.2 billion cubic meters per year. But, according to Minister Kapparov, the said program suggests a set of measures to down the water shortage.
