Kazakhstan-Malaysian trade and economic cooperation discussed in Kuala Lumpur
KUALA LUMPUR. KAZINFORM - On June 17, 2014 Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Malaysia Daniyar Sarekenov held a meeting with Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia Dato' Sri Mustapa Mohamed.
In the course of the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and outlooks for further development of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation, Foreign Affairs Ministry informs. In particular, the parties dwelled on the issues related to organizing the Third meeting of the Kazakhstan-Malaysia Joint Trade and Economic Committee in Kuala Lumpur, as well as the First sitting of the Kazakhstan-Malaysia Business Council.
The Ambassador highlighted the current political and economic situation in his country, the main development thrusts identified in the Kazakhstan-2050 Strategy, and briefed the Minister on the results of the official visit by Prime Minister of Malaysia H.E. Dato' Sri Najib Razak to Kazakhstan in May 2014.
On his part, the Malaysian Minister highly appreciated the dynamics of trade and investment cooperation between Astana and Kuala Lumpur, and accentuated the relevance of the further consolidation of bilateral economic cooperation, as well as the expansion of ties between business communities of the two nations.
