Kazakhstan lacks elevators - Ministry of Agriculture
ASTANA. May 23. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ Kazakhstan feels lack of elevators still, Vice Minister of Agriculture Saktash Khassenov has informed of it today during an online conference at BNews.kz portal.
"To date there are 223 licensed elevators in Kazakhstan with the total capacity of about 13.5 mln tons. In the years with adequate soil moisture, when yield productivity rises we feel lack of elevators, because about 75% of elevators out of 223 ones are in grain producing regions Akmola, Kostanay and North Kazakhstan oblasts", the Vice Minister clarified.
According t him, the majority of the elevators was built in Soviet period and they are lack of efficient grain drying system. Alongside, S. Khassenov noted that 14 more elevators had been built the countrywide in recent years. The Ministry plans to raise their capacity up to 16 mln tons in future.
