Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan share common stance on situation in Ukraine
CHOLPON ATA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan share common stance on the situation in Ukraine.
It was revealed during the meeting of Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov and his Kyrgyz colleague Erlan Abdyldaev in Sholpon Ata, Kyrgyzstan. "Violence is unacceptable and we are extremely concerned by the unstable situation in Ukraine. We really hope that peaceful dialogue between the sides proves to be effective," Minister Idrissov said. In his words, it is with great pain that Kazakhstanis learn the information about the situation in Ukraine, since 300,000 ethnic Ukrainians reside in Kazakhstan. "We hope that the Russian and European leaders will be able to maintain peaceful dialogue and restore peace in Ukraine," the Kazakh Foreign Minister added. In addition, Idrissov and Abdyldaev signed the Cooperation program between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan for 2014-2015. Upcoming state visit of President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev tentatively scheduled for autumn 2014 was also discussed at the meeting in Cholpon Ata.
