Kazakhstan is stable state in unstable region - Walter Schwimmer
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Observance of democratic rules of the people of Kazakhstan is truly critical. Obviously, if the law of the country allows to hold early presidential elections, it means there are no obstacles for this initiative. The interests of people are the priority, Secretary General of European Council Walter Schwimmer said commenting on the initiative of the Council of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan.
"Kazakhstan is a stable state in a quite difficult region, where a lot of conflicts happen. I mean mostly the situation in Afghanistan. I believe that the political and economic stability should remain in Kazakhstan. I am also confident that the people of Kazakhstan and its supreme legislative body made and right decision," he added.
