Kazakhstan is major exporter of grain and flour - Executive Secretary of Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Yevgeniy Aman
ASTANA. July 30. KAZINFORM /Murat Zhakeev/ Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Yevgeniy Aman has named the main factors that helped Kazakhstan be major world exporters of grain and flour at KazMeat & Milk-2010 forum in Astana today.
According to him these are favorable nature conditions in the northern regions of the country and strong willingness of the farmers to reach goals set . Those lands are especially favorable for growing wheat of strong and solid varieties of unique qualities.
'Taking into account this advantage Kazakh farmers have become major producers of wheat in the world. The history of wheat production in Kazakhstan comes from the development of virgin lands', Y. Aman noted.
Besides, he said that our country had great potential for cattle breeding development. The area of natural pastures in Kazakhstan is about 182 mln hectares and only 43 percent are used.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan the share of grain and flour in total export of agricultural and food products makes 78 percent.
