Kazakhstan is EU's reliable energy partner: Head of EU Delegation in Kazakhstan Aurelia Bouchez
ALMATY. October 2. KAZINFORM The European Union is the largest trade partner of Kazakhstan, its share in overall volume of foreign trade makes nearly 40%, Head of the EU Delegation to Kazakhstan Aurelia Bouchez told "Oil & Gas - KIOGE 2013" conference in Almaty on Wednesday.
The EU Ambassador stressed that the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the EU and Kazakhstan will be celebrated this year. Over the past two decades the EU-Kazakhstan cooperation in the sphere of trade, economy, energy, transport, and environment has significantly expanded.
"Cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union is based on their commitment to modernization and innovations, including transfer of high technologies and know-how by the European oil and gas companies," Ms Bouchez said.
"Extraction of oil at the Kashagan field, one of the world's largest energy projects, is the symbol of achievements and potential of Kazakhstan. Foreign investments mean not only new financial resources but also involve the transfer of innovative ideas and expert knowledge and facilitate establishment of ties with the global economy," the Head of the EU Delegation to Kazakhstan added.
In her words, the European Union is a dynamically developing market for Kazakhstani companies and also the largest regional energy platform in the world.
"There are many opportunities for business and both sides are interested in their development," Ms Bouchez concluded.
