Addressing the Astana Mining and Metallurgy Congress on Thursday, Saudi Arabia’s Industry and Mineral Resources Minister Bandar Alkhorayef highlighted Kazakhstan’s role as a reliable partner in the critical minerals sector, essential for the energy transition, electricity, and advanced manufacturing industries, Qazinform News Agency cites SPA.
He made remarks during a high-level discussion in Astana on global mining partnerships, attended by government officials and industry leaders worldwide.
Minister Alkhorayef emphasized that cooperation in mining strengthens supply chains and accelerates investment.
He said both countries share similar economic and industrial goals, focusing on diversification, resilience, and sustainable growth.
Collaboration in critical minerals is seen as vital for supporting renewable energy and advanced manufacturing.
Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yermek Kosherbayev, met with the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bandar Al-Khorayef.
