Kazakhstan, Iran cultural ties to be raised to a brand new level
ASTANA. May 21. KAZINFORM On May 20, 2011 Minister of Culture of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed met with Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini, Kazinform refers to the Kazakh Ministry's press service.
The parties discussed a range of issues regarding bilateral cooperation in culture.
The ministers expressed hope that the cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Iran would be raised to a brand new level of development.
Mr. Kul-Mukhammed highlighted the necessity of moving to a new level of cooperation in publishing business and cinematography.
In turn, the high guest expressed confidence in further strengthening of the cultural and spiritual ties between the two fraternal nations and stressed the importance of continuing translation of the works by Iranian classic authors into the Kazakh language and visa versa.
Besides, the parties discussed the outcomes of the Dialogue for Cooperation in Asia group concerning the cultural cooperation held in Tehran on May 8-11, 2011. The session was attended by the representatives of 31 Asian countries. The Kazakh side was represented there by Vice Minister of Culture Gaziz Telebayev.
According to statistical data, about 12 thousand Kazakhs are living in Iran to date.
