Kazakhstan invites Norway to partake in development of clusters - Ministry of Industry and Trade
ANA. February 5. KAZINFORM Today in Astana at the Kazakh-Norwegian business forum entitled Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Norway inEnergy Minister of Industry and Trade Asset Issekeshev has called on Norwegian companies to join development of our oil and gas engineering clusters.
Having informed the participants of Kazakhstan's 2020 Development Strategy and the Five-year Program on forced industrial-innovative development A. Issekeshev said Norway was widely represented in our country with its large oil and gas companies. "Out of USD 103 bln of direct investment attracted to Kazakhstan since 2003, 70% fall on ore-mining industry", the Minister noted. "However, we possess huge potential for the development of processing industries, therefore we find your experience in oil and gas engineering important for us", he stressed.
Kazakhstan is interested in experience of Norway which could form strong local industry and effectively use its resources for industrial development.
Issekeshev defined three major directions of the Kazakh-Norwegian cooperation which are quite promising as he noted. These are training and further training of Kazakhstan specialists and study of Norwegian methods in education as well as staff training.
The second direction is participation of the Norwegian companies in the program of forced industrial-innovative development for the next five years in engineering, petrochemistry, oil processing and oil service.
And the last direction of cooperation is scientific-technological sphere, the Minister said and added "we are interested in Norway's experience in oil and gas sector, especially in offshore operations".
