Kazakhstan international reserves to reach $ 100 billion
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - In the near future Kazakhstan's gold and foreign exchange reserves will reach USD 100 billion, this has been said by the chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Kairat Kelimbetov at a briefing in Central Communications Service.
"We expect that in the coming weeks the National Bank and the National Fund total reserves will grow to USD 100 billion", said K.Kelimbetov. According to his words, in January-March of the current year, international reserves of the National Bank increased by 7.5 percent and now stand at USD 26.5 billion. In 2013 the volume of foreign exchange assets of the National Bank decreased by 12.7 percent which amounted to USD 24.7 billion. National Fund assets in foreign currency in 2013 rose by more than 20 percent and reached USD 70.5 billion, and in January-March 2014 by 3 percent which equaled to USD 72.8 billion.
