Kazakhstan - important partner for Estonia and EU - M.Hirvoja

ASTANA. September 6. KAZINFORM Estonia and the European Union in whole are interested in Kazakhstan as an important strategic partner, Member of the Board of the Enterprise Estonia fund Martin Hirvoja said at the Kazakh-Estonian business forum today, according to Pm.kz.

"Kazakhstan is a very important partner for both Estonia and the European Union in whole as long as it is a market with quite high purchasing power. The trade turnover of our countries has great potential for development," Martin Hirvoja said.

He also emphasized that the dynamics of development of trade and economic relations between Estonia and Kazakhstan gained pace over the recent years. In 2007, Kazakhstan took the 27th place among trade partners of Estonia.

"In 2010, the export of Estonian goods in Kazakhstan reached a record level of 95 billion euros. Exported products were mostly products of the engineering sector, vessel building sector, metal structures, transformers," the representative of the Estonian side said.

Thereat, import of goods from Kazakhstan to Estonia made 75 billion euros in 2011. Kazakhstan mostly imports oil products, rubber products and chemical products.
