Deputy Secretary of Kazakhstan's Security Council Kozy-Korpesh Zhanburshin told the international conference on "Regional security and the situation in Afghanistan" in Astana on Thursday.

"We are all concerned with the fate of Afghan people. As you know, Kazakhstan, as many other states in the world, is trying to contribute to the sustainable development of Afghanistan," Mr. Zhanburshin said.

He noted that over the past years Kazakhstan had rendered humanitarian aid to people of Afghanistan. Kazakhstan's stance during its OSCE chairmanship and active position in such organizations as the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Collective Security Treaty Organization helped strengthen the situation in Afghanistan.
