Kazakhstan hands over ADB chairmanship 2015 to Azerbaijan
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The 47th annual meeting of the ABD's Board of Governors completed in Astana.
Next year Azerbaijan is to chair the ADB Board of Governors, the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning reports. ADB Governor from Kazakhstan - Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Yerbolat Dossayev thanked the leadership of the Bank for giving Kazakhstan high honor to chair the ADB and solemnly handed over ADB chairmanship to the representative of the Azerbaijani side - Finance Minister Samir Sharifov. Azerbaijan is next to hold 48th meeting of ADB's Board of Governors in May 2015 in Baku. ADB mission, which head office is located in Manila (Philippines) is to reduce poverty in the Asia and Pacific region through inclusive economic and environmentally sustainable growth, and regional integration. ADB was established in 1966, its shareholders are the 67 member countries, 48 of which are from the region. Kazakhstan joined ADB in 1994. Cooperation is carried out in several areas - transport sector, energy, governance improvements, and private sector development.
