Kazakhstan fully supports activity of Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization - K. Tokayev
ASTANA. August 25. KAZINFORM Chairman of the Kazakh Senate Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has received Executive Secretary of the Preparatory Commission of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization Tibor Toth today who is paying a working visit to Kazakhstan to participate in a conference devoted to the International Day against Nuclear Tests.
During the meeting the parties focused on development of cooperation in the sphere of international security and nuclear weapons non-proliferation. K. Tokayev expressed gratitude to T. Toth for his visit to Kazakhstan and participation in the conference devoted to the International Day against Nuclear Tests (August 29) initiated by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Having noted importance of interaction between Kazakhstan and this international structure, K. Tokayev stressed the role of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization as a key element of the non-proliferation regime and as an efficient tool in nuclear disarmament.
The Speaker took positive view of the activity of the CNTBTO directed on strengthening the regime of nuclear weapons non-proliferation and raising the level of international security. "Kazakhstan fully supports this work and stands for soonest enactment of the Treaty", K. Tokayev noted.
In turn, T. Toth highly appraised the level of relations between the CNTBTO and Kazakhstan and our country's contribution to the global process of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation.
